Skiing here is just on another level
The Remarkables ski area is absolutely worth the hype. Runs for every level, snow was in great shape, and the views over Lake Wakatipu are insane. Gear rental was easy to sort and the whole setup feels really well organised. Loved every minute on the mountain.
Best mountain town I've been to
Came here for the adventure stuff and it totally delivered. Bungy jumping near the Kawarau Bridge was terrifying in the best possible way. The town itself is easy to walk around and there's always something going on. Food on Shotover Street is decent and pretty varied too.
Queenstown in winter is something else
Did a ski trip to Coronet Peak and the conditions were just brilliant. Fresh powder, not too crowded on the weekdays, and getting back down into town is super easy. The après-ski scene along the waterfront is fun without being over the top. Really good trip all round.
A proper adventure base
If you're into outdoor stuff this place is hard to beat. Jetboating on the Shotover River was a highlight - fast, loud and genuinely exciting. The town has a good mix of restaurants and bars for the evenings. Fergburger lives up to its reputation, queue and all.
Stunning scenery, great food scene
Didn't come here for extreme sports but still had an amazing time. The walk along Lake Wakatipu is beautiful and the restaurants around the town center are really solid. Tried a proper lamb dish at one of the local spots - so good. New Zealand really knows how to do food.
Worth every penny for the views alone
Took the Skyline Gondola up to Bob's Peak and honestly the view over the town and the lake stopped me in my tracks. Everything feels close together which makes it easy to explore. The whole place has a great energy without feeling too chaotic. Really glad we came.
